Permian Basin 4-H Modeling Show

Ector 4-H had an amazing day at the Permian Basin 4-H Modeling Show! We not only earned the award for Best County Participation but also had several girls earn 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places for their modeling techniques! Along with the Modeling Show, District 6 4-H Specialist, Matt Tarpley, presented awards to Outstanding 4-H members. Heston Henry was awarded D6 Outstanding Senior Boy and Ryanne Lewis was awarded D6 Outstanding Intermediate Girl! GREAT JOB Ector County 4-H!

Permian Basin 4-H Modeling Show

Ector 4-H Club Kick- Off!

The Ector County Textile Show was a great event with many nice entries.  Best of Show was Ryanne Lewis, with her messenger bag.  Fashion Storyboard, Fashion Show Buying Entries, and craft / textile entries were among the other categories entered.  Thank you to all of our participants!  Great Job!

2012 Ector County Photography Show

The 2012 Ector County Photography Show is only a month away!  Entries are due to the Ector County Extension office by February 22nd by 5:00 p.m.  Entries should be 8x10 size and mounted.  This year we are asking for all photography entries to also be emailed to sfclawson@ag.tamu.edu as we will have an online photo gallery.  The emailed photos are also due February 22nd - by midnight.  Entries placing 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in the Ector County Show will be eligible to compete in the District 6 Photography Contest. 

Photography packets are available at the Ector County Extension Office with detailed information.  We are also happy to email a packet to you!  Simply call us at 432-498-4071 or email:  sfclawson@ag.tamu.edu

2012 Ector Livestock Show

The Ector County Livestock Show was help January 13 & 14th at the Ector County Coliseum - Barn E.  Thanks to everyone who participated and to the many volunteers who made the show possible.  If you would like to view some of the pictures from the Livestock Show, simply go to: http://jamescampos.smugmug.com/

Happy New Year!

2011 was a banner year for Ector 4-H!  So many reasons to be grateful!  We are excited to see what 2012 has in store.  Many exciting activities are coming up!  Here are a few reminders regarding the Ector County Stockshow - which be held at the Ector County Coliseum in Odessa, TX. 

1.      Date – January 12-14, 2012
-        Weigh-in of steers, swine, lambs, & goats – Friday, January 13th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
-        Weigh-in of rabbits – Friday, January 13th from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
-        Rabbit Show - Friday, January 13th @ 7:00 p.m.
-        Swine Show – Saturday, January 14th @ 9:00 a.m., followed by Lambs, Goats, Heifers, Steers.
-        Barn E will be open for livestock to move in on Thursday and Friday.  Livestock must be in barn before weigh-in starts.

2.      Set-up – Tuesday, January 10th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Please come to help when you can.  Set-up will count toward your ECLA required number of meetings.

3.      Top Hand and Scholarship Applications & Record Books are due January 9, 2012 by 5:00 p.m. to the Ector County Extension Office.   Applications & guidelines are attached in email.
