4-H Scholarship Interviews

And so... the work these young ladies have done over their 4-H careers came down to this one moment - the "scholarship interview". They were cool, relaxed, confident - all the characteristics they have worked to master.

Amelia Springer and Katie Keith, congratulations from Ector County 4-H!  We couldn't be more proud!

If you are interested in taking your 4-H career to the next level, give the Ector County Extension Office a call!  We've got a plan for you!

2011 Ector 4-H Clothing and Textile Show

What a fun event this was for Ector 4-H!  I believe we ended up with 35 entries!  Many talented young men and women entered their projects - how impressive to see their work!  Ryanne Lewis won "Best of Show" with her quilted bag.  Ms. Lewis also won "Honorable Mention Best of Show" for her roll up jewlery bag as well!  Congratulations!

Three storyboards were entered by: Ryanne Lewis, Zoe Johnson, and Naaman Johnson.  This was a new category - revised from a former project "fashion design".  They did an excellent job capturing their designs on the storyboards.

Ector County 4-H'ers learned how to put together a "fashion story board" in their clothing and textile project this year.

In the fashion show, Ector had four entries!
Katie Garner - 1st place, Buying Casual, Intermediate
Ryanne Lewis - 1st place, Buying Dressy, Intermediate
Zoe Johnson - 1st place, Recycled - Embellished, Intermediate
Abbey Callender - 1st place, Buying Dressy, Junior

Two of our Clover Kids entered their projects, Regan Armstrong and Dylan Hampton.  Regan entered an apron she made from recycling a towel - so creative!  Dylan entered a pillow case he decorated with his hand prints... cute stuff!  They were proud of their 1st place ribbons.

Dylan Hampton was recognized for his first place textile project.
